There is something about Japanese people (myself included) and Cherry Blossoms (Sakura). They can't separate spring and Sakura, it doesn't matter how many spring bulbs come up, it's not spring until Sakuras flower. Spring starts with and ends with the Sakura. So it was wonderful that a cold snap slowed down the Sakura flowering that meant I arrived in Japan just as they were in full bloom.

They are beautiful aren't they? I have my own sakura in my garden. I posted some pics of it on my blog yesterday. I should write a haiku to it really shouldn't I? :o)
